The new month of June brings a change in season and fabulous and fun Pride month events to the 46 countries AHF operates in around the globe to promote LGBT+ rights, HIV/STI testing, and condoms to Pride participants. In addition to Pride parades and parties in the United States, events will occur in Africa, Latin America/Caribbean, the Asia/Pacific Region, and Europe, providing entertaining education to the world.
Past years of global AHF Pride have included a huge benefit concert in the Dominican Republic, street bashes and marches in Greece, virtual talk shows combatting HIV stigma in Cambodia, and the distribution of over 170,000 condoms and 5,600 HIV tests across 15 countries in 2022.
The festivities reach new heights in countries like Argentina and Brazil, where marches can include millions of people and dozens of floats, or in Thailand, which hosted 50 parades nationwide attended by 155 civil society organizations. AHF’s participation in Prides worldwide brings new ideas and vital resources to key populations in low-income and underserved countries and communities.
