DRUG$

In 2018, AHF held two screening events for their feature-length documentary DRUG$: The
Price We Pay, in Chicago and San Francisco.

Narrated by Academy Award® Winner J.K. Simmons, DRUG$: The Price We Pay is a feature-length documentary about the soaring price of medicines in the U.S., featuring interviews with
academics, patients, advocates and political leaders, including Senator Bernie Sanders and Congressman Elijah Cummings.

DRUG$: The Price We Pay highlights how misguided legislation has led to tighter protections
for drug patents than for human lives. This practice results in continuous price hikes for long-established medications. Despite claims from Big Pharma that profits are reinvested into research
and development, the reality is different. Companies aggressively market their products and
reward CEOs with multimillion-dollar salaries and bonuses rather than improving patient care.

In San Francisco, Terri Ford, joined by a panel of experts and advocates, led a compelling
discussion at the Castro Theater to address the pressing issue of pharmaceutical industry greed.
The event gathered a diverse audience who engaged in a detailed dialogue about the ways in
which pharmaceutical companies exploit the system for profit. This engaging conversation aimed
to raise awareness, foster community advocacy, and drive action to combat the financial strain
imposed by the pharmaceutical industry.

It’s evident that substantial reform is urgently needed to prevent the collapse of the healthcare
system and to ensure access to quality medicine. AHF has led the fight against the predatory
tactics of Big Pharma and DRUG$: The Price We Pay is a poignant exposé that highlights the
urgent need for change and the human cost of unchecked pharmaceutical greed.

DRUG$: The Price We Pay is available to watch now on YouTube and Amazon Prime.
